Stock Research

  • History of the company and its founders.
  • General list of what the company produces, manufactures, or services.
  • What does the company plan for the future-new products expansion etc.
  • Is it a small, mid or large cap company?
  • Does this company compete globally?
  • Create a table to show earnings growth/decline of the past 5 or more years.
  • Create a table to show stock price growth/decline of the past 5 or more years.
  • Read current and past news articles. (very important this is how you gain a pulseof the company)
  • Read as much as you can from the company‚Äôs web page.
  • Read the letter to the share holders. This is found in the company web page and is never more than a couple of pages. It will give you insight into the Ceo and his plans for the company.
  • Research the CEO of the company.

13- 4-20 Assignment: You and your stock market partner need to have a total of 10 companies in your online stock portfolio (yahoo finance) by the end of the hour. These should be companies that you are interested in investing in. Each portfolio will be checked at the beginning of hour on Monday.

Use the Tracking Stock template below to add to your final portfolio. You have to record your purchase price, # of shares, date, etc. to be successful week to week.

Add the following to your final presentation: Total of (5) Company Research, Testimonial of your strategies, & Meet the Investors. Meet the Investors should be a biography of you and your partner. Strategies should be an audio recording of the strategies you & your partner used to buy & sell stock in various companies.

22- Strategy Script Due Tuesday May 8 at end of hour. Must be emailed to teacher or turned into the tray for grade. Use the blank script template below to write out what you are going to say in your recording. Your script is a dialogue/conversation that you or you and your partner will be having that describes the strategy that you used to make decisions throughout the stock market game. Such as which companies to invest in, buying, selling, etc. Your script must provide specific details. Your focus should be to inform while entertaining your audience. After your script is approved by teacher, you will record your voice(s) which will be added to your final presentation.

23- Investor Bio Due Tuesday May 15 at end of hour. Must be emailed to teacher. Biography should include a brief professional introduction of who you are including facts such as: Name, birthdate, career choice, college plans, interests/hobbies, financial interersts, financial skills gained from class, etc. Include a professional profile pic of yourself. Please see presentation rubric.

24-Recording Day: Strategy scripts need to be used to record an audio file that can be included in your presentation. Recordings should be complete so that you can meet the presentation deadline of Friday, May 18 end of hour. Each group is expected to present on Monday, May 21.
